Health Care Task Force

The Congressional Rural Caucus provided strong bipartisan leadership for rural America during the debate over the recently passed Medicare bill. Provisions endorsed by the Rural Caucus, including a historic equalization between how Medicare pays rural and urban hospitals, were pushed by almost 80 bipartisan lawmakers committed to quality and accessible healthcare throughout rural America.

Rural veterans face this very same issue of access to quality health care, and the member of the Rural Caucus have been active advocates on this issue in several ways. From introducing legislation to improve veterans' health access and quality to holding meetings with officials from the VA, including Secretary Anthony Principi, the Rural Caucus is a strong advocate for our rural veterans.
